I have been fascinated by computer animation for a very long time. At first I thought that I would never be able to afford the hardware and software needed. I saw a demo tape from a small Kansas based company while looking into non-linear editing equipment and got my first look at Newtek's Lightwave 3d. At that time this was only a side program for creating flying logos and such for their Video Toaster. The problem...the Amiga platform used, which was rumored to have a short existence. Also was the need for a single frame recorder. Oh well, so much for that idea. Or...so I thought. Along came the ole' DPS PAR (Personal Animation Recorder). That takes care of the frame recording, but what about platform? Along came Caligari's TrueSpace for the PC! GREAT! I had a screaming 12 MHZ 486! Now I was in business. Then... Newtek released the PC version of Lightwave3d. The rest as they say is history. Now I am not saying that I have near the skill as most of the modelers and animators that I have seen, but I do get endless hours of enjoyment. My Imagination is my only limiter. Oh and a little talent.
